Tuesday Morning Music Club - 5/17/11

It's been a long time since I did a music club update. The reason is that we didn't film any weddings for almost 4 months so I didn't see a need to list new music when we didn't need any for our same day edits. But now that the season is back in full swing I'll be posting new songs as well as some that I discovered over the winter.

For those of you who may be new to KSV, the Tuesday Morning Music Club is my chance to offer cool songs for our same day edits, so we can stay away from the horrible music that you may have seen in the videos of other companies. If you have ever seen a wedding video start with the Father of The Bride theme song you know what I mean. Just bad. Really bad.

It's been a while since I blogged the Tuesday Morning Music Club. For those who may not know what it is - every Tuesday music companies release new music, and I scour itunes to find the bestest, coolest, hippest songs we can find to help us make the cool videos that we do.

I took a few weeks off from the music club posts. Why? Because all the music released the last few weeks sucked. I think there is some kind of schedule the record companies follow as to when they release certain CD's. Maybe they didn't want to release anything around the Memorial Day Holidays because they know a bunch of movies get released and initial sales would not be good.

Anyway, I am back with 3 very cools songs this week. These would all make great wedding video songs.

Apparently nobody wanted to go head to head with the Metallica digital box set that was released last week, because there weren't any good releases last week. Hopefully this week will be different. Honorable Mention - Tinted Windows. Although there aren't any good wedding video songs on here this is a fantastic new CD from a cool new "supergroup". For those not familiar with the term "supergroup", it refers to a band that consists of members from previously successful bands. In the case of Tinted Windows they have members from Hanson, Smashing Pumpkins, Fountains of Wayne and Cheap Trick. This CD is really a great listen.

Tuesday Morning Music Club - 4/7/09

Country seems to have taken over the wedding industry the last couple of years. The standards for the parents dances were Butterfly Kisses by Bob Carlisle and Because You Loved Me by Celine Dion. More recently I hear I Loved Her First by Heartland for the father/daughter dance and My Wish by Rascal Flatts for the mother/son dance. We've also done numerous Prologue videos to Lost in This Moment by Big and Rich.

Whether it's by design or all just a happy accident I don't see the trend stopping anytime soon. Country artists just seem to be putting out so many great love songs these days that it's almost hard to keep up. This week is no exception.
